Week 2 Reflection
This week in class we talked about how different websites track our data. I always knew a bit but never to the extent of how much information is released to these websites.
When we were separated into our breakout rooms we were asked to look at 4 different websites, each one showing us something different. The first website, was called, clickclickclick. When I first clicked on the website I was a bit confused. But as we went on, and as I continued to click the button more it seemed to know about what I was doing. It knew how long I was on the website for, if I scrolled up or down, the direction of where I clicked and so on. This website really made me realize that companies can see our every move and what we actually do on their websites. I have provided photos below so you can see what I was trying to explain.

The second website we looked at was called, “Since You Arrived” when I clicked on this website it gave me information based on my IP address such as where I live, the type of device I was using, and my battery percentage. This website made me learn that when you save your passwords to your laptop they are not actually safe.

The third website was called “Privacy.Net”. I did not spend to much time on this website however, it seemed to be pretty similar to the previous website where they told me my location, battery level and the type of device I was on.

The last website we looked at was maps, however I had trouble trying to find my past driving history. Overall, I found this class to be very engaging and it made me think more about how our privacy is shared online. I never thought about how much information could be shared via third parties and this really made me more cautious for when I do have to share personal information. My next question I am wondering is how this can connect to healthcare and if our health files could ever be shared in the same way our information is.
